Usually the Swift in Belchertown is a consistant flow. As you may already know that the water is gin clear, and you can see plenty of fish, though catching them is another story. This time of year is usually your best bet being early enough that they aren't leader shy yet? Depending on the discharge & its time, the Deerfield/Fife would be a great idea. I'd like to get up there myself. I'd love to get back up to Pittsburg NH agin myself and hit Perry and Indian streams. Its Gods county!!! Here is a link that may supply you with some usefull info about the Swift. millersriverflyfishingforum.blogspot.com/

Thanks DRYFLYPHIL! My twin brother and I thinking of maybe going out early in AM tomorrow. Went to the Swift last year once for the first time in years and we got into some fish, but like you said they were leader shy. We finally confused them and caught nice bows at dark fishing with our ears. I go up to Lopstick lodge in Pittsburg for first time June 3rd, usually a grand lake stream trip every year but plans changed this season! Should be fun and different scenery looking forward to it. I will post and let you guys know!! Still hear water levels are crazy up there though crossing my fingers!

I use to go up there every year for deer season with some family when I use to live out-side of Boston years ago. We then started going there for fishing, but haven't been there in many moons. My cousin still goes up there every year with a couple people for spring trout season as well as fall salmon season. He invites me every year, and I keep saying I'm going to take him up on his offer sometime and I never do. Sometime I just might return, and I'll keep you in mind. Its a Beautiful area and a great place!!!!

I've stayed @ the Lopstick before as well as the Tall Timber and the Wonder Inn. Ice out of those lakes are very late, so the fishing should be prime time by then. Even if the Ct and the larger rivers & streams are still high. That area is highly peppered with smaller stream, rivers and creeks that hold plenty of trout. Good luck and enjoy it.
