Note to all On the Ausable Two Fly thread hsweren posted an excellent offer:
Hey guys,
How about an informal meeting at Wahconah Sunday, April 17th at 1pm. I will bring some old bamboo rods and reels and if anyone else wants to bring some that would be great. We could also go down to the Housy river that runs through the golf course which is scheduled to be stocked this week sometime.
Tight lines everyone,
Henry
I thought I would re-post this on a new thread with hope that it would attract the attention of folks who might be interested in a get together but might not be interested in the Ausable event. Let's do it! If you can contact any of our lost members or perhaps recruit some new ones -- please do. It would be nice if we could revitalise the group -- at least to the point where we can get together a few times a year and keep this web site going. Henry, We all thank you for a wonderful suggestion. What could be better than fly fishing on what might as well be private waters and just a short walk from a very nice bar/clubhouse. I may not deserve such opulence, but that does not mean I will not take advantage of it. I'll even buy a non-res Ma. license. Naturally I will bring a few bamboo rods to play with, and I look forward to the chance to cast some that Henry showed us last time. Any one with a rod of interest, bamboo, glass, or graphite --please bring them! AgMD

Hi kim,
Thanks for the new post. Good idea!!! I hope that we can get a good core of people to show up and get the group back on its feet.

It has been pointed out that an evening get-to-gether might make attendance easier for some folks so after consultation with our host ( thanks Henry), I say let's have it all. So here is the plan -- subject to improvement: Apr. 17th we will begin to gather at the W country club. We will continue, mostly streamside until it is too dark or we are too tired. Folks can come and go as circumstances allow. Sometime between the afternoon fishing and evening fishing, we will gather streamside for an informal bread and cheese picnic. Everyone brings a loaf of bread, a chunk of cheese, maybe some summer sausage and a fine imported wine, -- or beer, -- or Gatorade. Fruit for desert and we have a moveable feast. Bring enough for yourself and to share. Anyone who brings sliced bread or sliced cheese will be considered a bait fisher. Mid winter meetings indoors are all well and good, but summertime is time better spent on stream. And what better way to spend it on stream than with like minded folk. Let's make this happen! AgMD
