Rain is predicted for this weekend, and I hope we get dumped on!! Boy, the rivers need it bad. I stopped by my favorite fishing spot during my lunch break today just to check the water levels, and its LOW!
I'd love to see a couple inches of rain hit the area to bring the water levels up & the river temperatures down.
Anyway, I'm keeping my fingers crossed..............DRYFLYPHIL

Well the rain that fell over the past few days will hopefully help re-coupe some of the rivers in need of relief. But its probably not enough, & we still need more! I'm itching to wet a fly over a trout. I've got a whole box full of new flies that I've picked up over the dry summer months that need to see water. Well, at least I don't have any reason or excuse to get most of my honey do's done around the house. Or at least tell the wife that I'm working on them. HMMM! Fly fishing for trout, or Honey do's? I don't like the winner of this summer's selection of entertainment. Regards.............DRYFLYPHIL

Yes!! Not a lot of rain, but what a difference. Not only a bit more water in the rivers but the rain and the cooler temps have knocked down the river temps just enough. The Hoosic had been running at 70*F or so but is now down to the mid 60's. Time to go fishin' AgMD

The fishing has been good lately on both the North and South Branches of the Hoosic.

Well, I guess I don't need to say any more after this past week.
Has anyone been out lately, and if so any luck?
I actually stopped by a spot on the river during my work travels thats usually good for a few trout, just to look and check out the water levels after the rain. Now that the levels are back, when I get the chance in the very near future, maybe I'll wet a line and hopefully a few trout made it through the HOT DRY summer.
