Is it me? or have things quieted down a bit... for the first time in awhile I got skunked tonight on the Housi. Not a stretch with water warming, but usually I can trigger something. No fish, no bites, no rises... Swallows were swarming & suspect a caddis emerger may have been helpful, but nothing in my bag.
Earlier this week I was on a high... couple pigs on streamers, even landed my first fish swinging a wet fly without an indicator.
I gather this too, shall pass. Two weeks until Utah!

Your experience this week mirrors mine. Was out Tuesday and Thursday late afternoon till sunset at three different locations. Very active birds on what seemed to be a small number of flies. Minimal rising until about 8:45 pm. Then all hell broke loose. In contrast, a week ago today from 2-5 pm I had my best fishing of the year to date, on streamers, nymphs and dries.

Blanked again Friday. Admittedly, I was overdone for the week and forcing the issue never works. My first three holes were occupied... didn't bode well.
Fishing is stupid. Perhaps I needed a break... perhaps I needed a change of scenery.
I'll defer to the fishing reports dept.
