It was a picture perfect day yesterday on the Housi.
My father & I arrived on the Housi C&R to fly fish around 11:00am & were the only people there, until 2 guys with spinning gear showed.
They caught about a dozen fish each between the 2 of them in a 100yd span of the river. It was a little slow for us fly fishing, though it probably would have been better if the spinning gear wasn't used & the river wasn't so disturbed with that type of action. Nothing personal, just an observation.
I caught one 10-12" brown off of a Bead head Aggravator, as well as a couple missed hits off a size 18 hares ear nymph.
Anyway, perfect weather to wet a fly...............DRYFLYPHIL

6wt,
yes they did seem to really clean up with the spinning gear. It looked like they were using spoons, or something like that.
Last week my dad & I caught the stocking truck, and with big nets, they just shoveled the trout into the river from the bridge scoop after scoop. I never knew how many fish they put in before, but now I know. The guy on the back of the truck said it was over 100. They actually put a few, that were 18 - 20" fish, but most were your standard 10-12"
They started behind Diesel Dans, then the bridge, then behind country curtains maintenance in the Lee industrial area. That Country Curtain area is access for Stocking the Tyringham road. So we'll see?
But possibly this week sometime when I'm freed up?
But 6wt, the river is calling your name.............DRYFLYPHIL
