The jailbird is a great subsurface fly. Just fish it slowly and on a short line.

This is a pattern developed by Marla Blair, a local Deerfield guide. Its about a stripped down and basic pattern as you can get. There are so many others similar that going to the effort of tying it up is a waste. A green or olive RS2 will serve you just as well.
