wondering if anyone knows,where I migth be able to find a fullwells hardwood grip,Merrick Tackle used to sell them special order but has since discontinued them.

You might post this question on the "Rod Building Forum" www.rodbuildingforum.com/index.php?s=688a3164bfad5892e91efd332025c34a&act=idx Lots of folks over there are making hardwood and birch bark grips and you are likely to find someone who can set you up. But now the question? Why? I once started a birch bark grip, ( they do look wicked nice) but abandoned the project once I got it turned to rough shape. At that point I could tell that it was going to feel too firm in the hand. Cork is wonderfully resilient and just feels good. I could tell that the birch bark would just feel too hard. I think a hardwood grip would be even more so. AgMD
