After what I will call a brutal Winter, we've warmed up and have temps in the mid 60's today. All the snow is gone except for the huge piles left by the plows. It will be a while before the shelf and anchor ice is gone from the rivers, but its getting close...
Early trout opener in Wisconsin is March 1st.
I've got a bad case of the shack nasties...

My shack nasties just got worse. My fishing partner/son that you see in all my pictures just broke his leg in basketball practice Monday - 5 weeks in a cast. The night before I was getting all our steelhead stuff out as he's on vacation next week and with the warmer weather, we were planning to get out to some Ontario tribs. Now I can't even get him out to do any ice fishing locally. Major bummer.
Good luck on your opener

So much for a big thaw. How about big snow?
I only got about 4 inches here near Albany today but I see Mass. got socked pretty good.
I may still be ice fishing on April 1.

I saw that the Northeast got pounded. Well, I guess better you guys than us. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 40's and Thursday a high of 55!
