Nice catch Dan. Did you release it or make a snow cone out of it?

The first pic is wallpaper-worthy. I like to get out during thaws myself but there haven't been any so I'm spending my weekends inside a little ice hut on top of the frozen tundra. It beats sitting on the couch all winter. I probably should start tying up some flies soon too as the cold has to break sometime.

where did you even begin to start and approach this body of water? did you have to notify any rescue agencies of your itinerary? cleats or crampons for your waders? i have cabin fever bad - but i think there must be some life insurance exclusion if this scenario is involved...
