The Legend - Mel Krieger recently passed away.
I loved the fact that he fished with some of the most antiquated equipment possible and casted like he was using the most modern and fast rod available. Shows you what years of practice can accomplish.
At a show a couple of years back, I got the opportunity to speak with Mel for about 15 minutes about casting techniques. He was as knowledgeable as they come, soft spoken and with no pretense.
He will be missed.
